Biography

Bosnian Rainbows was an American rock band from El Paso, Texas, formed in 2012. The group consisted of Omar Rodríguez-López on guitar and backing vocals, Deantoni Parks on drums and keyboards, Teri Gender Bender on lead vocals, and Nicci Kasper on synths and keyboards. Following the release of Noctourniquet by The Mars Volta in March 2012, Rodríguez-López formed Bosnian Rainbows as a more democratic project after putting The Mars Volta on hiatus. The band's first tour was booked under the banner of the Omar Rodriguez Lopez Group, and they recorded their self-titled debut album at Clouds Hill Studios in Hamburg, Germany. Bosnian Rainbows was released worldwide on June 25, 2013, featuring notable singles "Torn Maps" and "Turtle Neck". The band went inactive in 2014 after Rodríguez-López reunited with Cedric Bixler-Zavala for the project Antemasque.
