Chloe Quayle, known as Barkaa, was born in 1995 and is an Aboriginal Australian rapper. She began performing rap at high school and entered competitions in Blacktown. Barkaa released her debut single "For My Tittas" in March 2020, followed by "Our Lives Matter" in June 2020, which became the unofficial anthem for the Black Lives Matter movement in Australia. Her first EP, Blak Matriarchy, was released on December 2, 2021, and included notable tracks like "King Brown" and "Bow Down". Barkaa has collaborated with artists such as Dobby and Electric Fields, and performed at venues including the Sydney Opera House and Sidney Myer Music Bowl. In August 2024, she announced her second EP Big Tidda, described as a celebration of Blak joy and love. The same year, she signed to Bad Apples Music, founded by Briggs.
