Biography

Fito & Fitipaldis, a Spanish rock band formed in 1998 by Fito Cabrales of Platero y Tú, began as a side project that evolved into a full-fledged career following the dissolution of his previous band. The group's debut album, A Puerta Cerrada, was released in 1998, produced by Iñaki 'Uoho' Antón and featuring a more intimate acoustic sound compared to Cabrales' work with Platero y Tú. The album achieved platinum status. The band's second album, Los Sueños Locos, was released in 2001 and marked a return to electric guitars and rock and roll, earning them another platinum certification. In 2004, Fito & Fitipaldis released their third studio album, Lo Más Lejos A Tu Lado, which included hits like "La casa por el tejado" and "Soldadito marinero", solidifying the band's presence in the Spanish music scene. The album went triple platinum by 2009. Their fourth album, Por La Boca Vive El Pez, released in September 2006, became a double platinum success within just fifteen days and topped the Spanish charts for several weeks. Fito & Fitipaldis received awards for Best Song and Best Rock Album at the Premios de la Música that year. The band continued to dominate the charts in the following years, reaching Number 1 in Spain with Antes de Que Cuente Diez (2009), Huyendo Conmigo de Mí (2014), Cada Vez Cadáver (2021), and El Monte de los Aullidos (2025).
