Beats and Styles, a Finnish electronic music group, was formed in Finland. The duo consisted of DJ Control (Jaakko Manninen) and DJ Alimo (Asmo Soivio). They began their career as DJs and club promoters before transitioning into music production. In 2003, they released their debut album This is... Beats and Styles, which included notable tracks such as "Dynamite" and "Girls' Anthem". The following year, they released We're Not Ready Yet, featuring the hit single "Renegades", sung by Michael Monroe and Alimo. In 2005, their album Everything is Everything featured the popular track "Invitation to the Dancefloor" and a music video for "Everything is Everything" shot in Prypiat near Chernobyl. The group won a bronze award at the 2005 Muuvi music video competition. Their subsequent albums included Two White Monkeys, released in France, and Walk, Don't Talk (2007), which featured Michael Monroe on the single "Ocean Wave". Beats and Styles also participated in the Finnish Eurovision Song Contest selection with their song "See the Signs" but did not achieve a breakthrough. In 2009, DJ Control left due to musical differences, leading to the release of Schizosonics.
