Bang Bang Machine was formed in 1989 in Evesham, Worcestershire, England, by guitarist Steve Eagles, vocalist Elizabeth Freeth, bassist Stan Lee and drummer Lamp. The group first gained attention with the Geek Love EP, which topped John Peelâs Festive 50 in 1992 and led to a Peel Session broadcast on BBC Radioâ¯1. Their debut album Eternal Happiness was issued in 1994 on Ultimate, followed by the Evil Circus EP in 1992 and the single Breathless in 1995, which reached number 96 on the UK Singles Chart and number 10 on the UK Indie Chart. After a brief period of majorâlabel interest, the band disbanded in 1996 amid record company difficulties. In 2013 they reâreleased their back catalogue on iTunes, preserving their contribution to UK alternative rock.
