The Candyskins were an English rock band formed in 1989 in Oxford, England, by Mark Cope, Nick Cope, Nick Burton, and John Halliday, all of whom attended Gosford Hill School in Islip, Oxfordshire. Their breakthrough came with the single "Submarine Song" in 1990, which led to the release of their debut album Space I'm In the following year. In 1993 the band released Fun? on Geffen Records, followed by a series of albums and EPs including Sunday Morning Fever (1997), Death Of A Minor Tv Celebrity (1999), and Live At The Zodiac (2024). Their most notable chart success was the single "Monday Morning" from Sunday Morning Fever, which entered the UK Singles Chart Top 40 in 1997. The group signed with Ultimate Records for Sunday Morning Fever and later recorded Death Of A Minor TV Celebrity, featuring the track "Feed It" that appeared in the soundtrack of the film The Waterboy. The Candyskins disbanded in 1998 after eight years of activity and later reunited for performances in 2009, including a show at the Truck Festival. Their legacy remains as a significant, though commercially modest, contributor to the Britpop era.
