Biography

Thirteen Senses is a British alternative rock group formed in Penzance, Cornwall, in 2001. The lineup originally included vocalist and guitarist Will South, guitarist Tom Welham, bassist Adam Wilson, and drummer Brendon James. Their first independent EP, Inside A Healing Mind, appeared in 2002 under the name Soul Magician before they adopted the current name Thirteen Senses later that year. Signing with Vertigo Records, a Mercury subsidiary, the band released the single "Thru The Glass" in 2004, followed by "Do No Wrong" and "Into The Fire"; the latter reached the UK Top 40 and became a recurring feature in television series such as Grey's Anatomy and ER. Their debut album, The Invitation, was issued on 27 September 2004 and re-issued in 2005, while the second album, Contact, arrived on 2 April 2007. After a period of extensive touring across the UK and Europe, the third studio effort, Crystal Sounds, was released on 21 February 2011, featuring singles "The Loneliest Star" and "Home". In 2014, the band issued A Strange Encounter on 5 May, showcasing a blend of atmospheric rock and melodic hooks. The group has maintained a consistent presence in the alternative scene, with several tracks licensed for film and television, cementing their role as a notable British rock act of the early 21st century.
