Biography

Audra, an Arizona-based American musical band, was formed in 1991 in Mesa, Arizona by brothers Bret and Bart Helm. The group's initial release, Unhappy Till the End, was issued on cassette in 1996 under their own label Audra Art Sex Religion. In 2000, Audra signed with indie label Projekt Records, which released their first two studio albums, Audra (2000) and Going to the Theatre (2002). The band's third album, Everything Changes, was released in 2009 on their own Audra Music label. Audra has toured extensively, performing alongside notable acts such as The Mission UK, Peter Murphy (of Bauhaus), AFI, and Johnette Napolitano (of Concrete Blonde). Their fourth album, Dear Tired Friends, was released in 2019 and featured a guest appearance from Mike VanPortfleet of Lycia on the track "Planet of Me".
