Biography
Freaks, an electronic band from London, England, was formed in 1994 by Justin Harris and Luke Solomon, who initially gained recognition as DJs under their own names. The duo later collaborated collectively as Freaks, releasing a series of albums that showcased their unique blend of electronic music. Their early career saw the release of The Beat Diaries (2000) and Meanwhile, Back at the Disco... (2001), which established them in the electronic music scene. In 2003, Freaks released the album The Man Who Lived Underground, which included their notable single "Where Were You When The Lights Went Out?". This period marked a significant phase in their career, as they continued to experiment with different sounds and styles. Throughout the mid-2000s, Freaks released several more albums, including Notes from the underground (2004) and The Creeps (Get On the Dancefloor) (2007). The latter album featured the hit single "The Creeps (Get on the Dancefloor)", which reached number 9 in the UK, solidifying their place in the electronic music landscape. In addition to their original releases, Freaks were known for their remixes of tracks by various artists, including Alison Limerick's "Make It on My Own" (1996), Hardfloorâs "Mahogany Roots" (1997) and Garbage's "Sex Is Not the Enemy" (2005). They also ran the record label Music for Freaks, which further cemented their influence in the industry.
