Biography
Steve Matthews, known professionally as Argyle Goolsby, was born on September 15, 1978 in Bluefield, West Virginia. He began his music career in 1997 with the punk rock band Blitzkid, co-founded with lead guitarist T.B. Monstrosity (Tracy Byrd). The band drew inspiration from horror movies and became part of the horror punk subgenre. Between 1997 and 2012, Goolsby recorded seven studio albums with Blitzkid, including Let Flowers Die (2001), and several split EPs. On November 10, 2012, during their Return to the Living Tour, Blitzkid played their last concert in Düsseldorf, Germany. Following Blitzkid's disbandment, Goolsby pursued a solo career under his own name, releasing several albums including Saturnalia of the Accursed (2015) and Darken Your Doorstep (2017). He joined the band Calabrese in 2024.
