Biography

Antonio Restucci, born on October 8, 1956, in Santiago, Chile, is a guitarist and multi-instrumentalist known for his contributions to jazz and world music. At age fifteen, he began performing with Brazilian singer Manduka and Chilean band Los Jaivas. In the mid-1970s, while living in Peru, Restucci started composing and exploring folk rhythms on guitar. From 1976 to 1986, he worked as a lutier, crafting instruments like the charango and mandolin. He joined fusion groups El Arca and Palisandro, and in 1983, became part of the trio La Hebra. In the late 1990s, Restucci released several solo albums including Plaza del Ã¡ngel (1995), Vetas (1996), Cenizas en el mar (1999), and Bosque nativo (2000). He collaborated with notable artists such as Joe Vasconcellos, Los Tres, Francesca Ancarola, and Claudia AcuÃ±a. Restucci's work earned him the Altazor Award for Best Alternative/Jazz Album in 2000.
