Biography

Andrius Mamontovas, born 23 August 1967 in Vilnius, is a Lithuanian rock musician, songwriter, and actor. In 1983, he co-founded the rock band Foje, which released 14 albums and established a reputation as one of Lithuania's most prominent acts. The group disbanded in 1997 following a farewell concert in Vilnius attended by 60,000 people, an all-time attendance record for the country. Mamontovas launched a solo career with the 1995 album Pabėgimas, followed by Tranzas (1997) and Cloudmaker (2000). In 2006, he initiated the LT United project, representing Lithuania in the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "We Are the Winners". He won 15 Bravo Awards and the 2008 Jin-Jue Award for best film music. Since 1997, Mamontovas has performed the lead role in the international touring production of Hamlet. His discography continued with Perlai ir sakuros (2020).
