Andrea del Boca, born on 18 October 1965 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, began acting before her first birthday and became a child star in the early 1970s through television roles including Nuestra galleguita and Papá corazón, the latter earning her a MartÃn Fierro Award as a revelation performer. Alongside that screen career, she also recorded music from an early age, first appearing on "El milagro de ser mamá" with Iris Lainez in 1972 and then releasing "Papá corazón" in 1973. She continued recording at the end of the decade with songs such as "Mamá, quiero decirte gracias" and "Feliz Nochebuena, Feliz Navidad", and in 1980 issued her first album, El mundo de Andrea del Boca. In 1982 she recorded "Perdóname, quisiera ser mejor" with Silvestre, and after re-establishing herself as a major telenovela lead in the late 1980s she released Con amor in 1988 and Te amo in 1989. Her best-known music came during the same period as Celeste, Antonella, Perla negra, and ZÃngara, especially through the 1994 album Un Besito, which included "El Amor", "Tonta, Pobre Tonta", and "Ganas de Ti". Later releases were less frequent, but she returned to recording in 2013 with "El Amor Es AsÃ", a duet with Gigi DâAlessio. In the following years she remained active mainly in television, including Esa mujer in 2013 and Perla Negra 2.0 in 2021, while her music catalog remained most closely associated with the pop songs linked to her late-1980s and 1990s stardom. In 2026 she returned to high-profile television as a contestant on Gran Hermano: Generación Dorada and also confirmed that a screen biopic based on her life was in development.
