Biography

Verónica Judith Sáinz Castro, known professionally as Verónica Castro, was born on October 19, 1952, in Mexico City. She began her career at 15, studying acting under Andrés Soler and appearing in photonovelas like Citas y Chicas. Her breakthrough came with the telenovela Los ricos también lloran (1979), where she sang the theme song "Aprendí a llorar". This role brought international recognition. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Castro released albums including El malas mañas (1981) and Esa mujer (1989). She also hosted late-night shows and reality television programs. In the 2000s, she was awarded an Emmy for her contributions to Latin American television.
