Biography

Ana Johnsson was born on October 4, 1977 in Gothenburg, Sweden. Her real name is Anna Lovisa Johnsson (also Jonsson). She is a Swedish singer in the pop and rock genre and is considered one of the most successful pop-rock artists of the early 2000s. Her career began in the early 2000s when she gained fame by taking part in the casting show Popstars and then became a member of the short-lived girl group Excellence. After leaving the band, she launched her solo career in 2003 under the stage name Ana Johnsson. Her debut album Cuz I Can is released in Sweden in 2004. This album was released internationally a few months later under the title The Way I Am. The single "We Are", which was recorded for the soundtrack of the film Spider-Man 2, brought her international breakthrough and reached the top 10 in the charts in several countries. Successful singles such as "Don't Cry for Pain" and "Coz I Can" also follow, raising her profile as a pop-rock artist. Her second studio album Little Angel is released in 2006 and contains further singles such as "Days of Summer" and "Exception". Stylistically, Ana Johnsson moves between modern pop rock, alternative rock and catchy melodies, which are often characterized by powerful guitars and striking vocals.
