Biography

Fefe Dobson is a Canadian singer who boasts English, French, Jamaican and Canadian ancestry. She made her album debut in 2003 at the age of 18 with 'Fefe Dobson'. Her style merged emotive vocals with rock power chords. The lead single was the anthemic 'Take Me Away'. After the failure of her following two singles and the emergence of Avril Lavigne, Dobson was then dropped by her record label. Her follow-up album was 'Sunday Love', released independently in 2006. The album clearly made a mark as its songs were covered by Jordin Sparks, Selena Gomez and Norwegian band Lilyjets. She then proved her songwriting prowess by co-writing the song 'Start All Over' for Miley Cyrus. In 2010 she released her third album 'Joy', including the singles 'Ghost' and 'Stuttering'. In 2011 she played the character of Cherry C in the independent film 'Home Again'. Dobson has also written with Joan Jett, Cyndi Lauper and Rancid's Tim Armstrong. After spending time in Nashville to work on new material she released the single 'Save Me from LA' in 2018.
