Biography
Alvin Martin Slaughter, born on July 17, 1955, in New York City, is an American gospel musician, worship leader, and singer-songwriter. He was a member of the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir in New York City and transitioned to a solo career in the early 1990s after signing with Integrity Music. His debut album Revive Us Again was released in 1994 under Hosanna! Music and reached number 34 on the U.S. Contemporary Christian chart. Subsequent albums include Champion of Love (1994), God Can (1996), which peaked at number 22, Yes! (1997), reaching number 38, and Rain Down (2000), peaking at number 27. Slaughter's later works include On the Inside (2003), The Faith Life (2005), and Overcomer (2008). He has been nominated for several Dove Awards and performed on the TBN television network.
