Biography

Men of Standard is an American gospel group, formed in 1996. The group originally consisted of Isaac Carree, Michael Bacon, Bryan Pierce, and Lowell Pye, though Bacon departed in 2005. The group spent much of its early career with the Malaco Records subsidiary Muscle Shoals, releasing their self-titled debut Men of Standard in 1996. Their subsequent albums include Feels Like Rain (1999), Vol. III (2002), It’s a New Day (2004), and Surrounded (2006). Their Surrounded album was released under Columbia/Sony Gospel and features production by Warryn Campbell and guest appearances by Heavy D and Kirk Franklin. They were also a featured act on the second leg of Kirk Franklin’s Hero tour. Notable singles include “Winter” (1996), “In Your Will” (1999), “I Will” (2006), and “Surrounded” (2006). Their discography also includes Greatest Hits (2009), and solo albums such as Isaac Carree’s Uncommon Me (2011).
