Afternoon Bike Ride is a Montreal-based lofi folk trio formed by Lia (vocals, guitar, programming), David (vocals, guitar, drums, programming), and Ãloi (vocals, keys, drums, programming). Known for creating what they describe as âan audio diary,â their music blends ambient, acoustic, folk, pop, and field recordings into warm and organic soundscapes. Since their debut EP sugarbloom in 2019, theyâve steadily gained recognition for crafting songs that feel like intimate snapshots of friendship, nostalgia, and love. Their self-titled album Afternoon Bike Ride (2021) established them as a unique voice in the indie scene, praised for its lush harmonies and genre-blurring production. In early 2023, they released their sophomore album glossover, a 14-track project that deepened their chemistry as a trio and expanded their sonic palette. Recorded in part at a cabin in St. Donat, Quebec, the album captures both playful âfound footageâ moments and carefully layered textures, resulting in a work both personal and expansive. Lyrically, it explores themes of self-growth, connection, and prioritizing love for community and self. Their track âABIGAILâ(2025) exemplifies this blend of intimacy and dreamlike atmosphere, showing how the band uses their multi-lingual, multi-instrumental approach to create music that is both experimental and comforting.
