Dora Jarkowski, known professionally as Dora Jar, is an American singer-songwriter born on October 12, 1996, in New York City. She grew up in Berkeley and Burlingame, California, where her mother's singing fostered a love for music. At age 14, she began learning guitar and started creating songs. Jarkowski released her debut EP Digital Meadow in May 2021. In March 2022, she released her second EP Comfortably in Pain, which received critical acclaim from Pitchfork and NPR. Later that year, she signed to Island Records and released singles "Bumblebee" and "Spell". Jarkowski was named in Vogue's 22 Rising Musicians Set To Rule 2022 list. She supported Billie Eilish on her Happier Than Ever, The World Tour in 2022. Her debut studio album No Way to Relax When You Are on Fire was released September 13, 2024.
