Biography
BY2 are a Mandopop duo comprising the twin sisters Miko and Yumi Bai. Originally from Singapore the pair moved to Taiwan in 2007 at the age of 15 having been signed by the Ocean Butterflies Music company owned by the region's major entertainment impresario Billy Koh. Their first two albums failed to gain traction in the Chinese or Taiwanese music charts, but in 2010 their third release, 'Grown Up' hit the top of the charts in both countries.
In 2011 their fourth album, '90' Now' before taking a break. This was followed in 2012 by EP '2020 Love You Love You' and an appearance on the Chinese TV talent show 'Asian Wave' where they were eliminated in the second round of competition. The pair were unable to repeat the success of 'Grown Up' and in 2015 their contract with Ocean Butterflies was not renewed. This lead to a lacuna in their career, which was resurrected in 2019 with an appearance on the Chinese TV talent show 'The Coming One' in which apparently forgotten singers and groups take a shot at a comeback.
