Biography

Kenneth Allen, known professionally as Admiral Tibett, was born in 1960 in Freehill, Saint Mary, Jamaica. He is a singer renowned for his "cultural" lyrics within the reggae and world music genres. Tibett began performing in Jamaican clubs and with sound systems during his teens. His first recordings were made in his 20s, with notable early singles like "Babylon War" (1985) produced by Sherman Clacher. In 1987, Tibett released his debut album Come Into The Light, produced by King Jammy. Throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s, he recorded several albums, including "War In A Babylon" (1988) and "Reality Time" (1991). Tibett's hit single "Serious Time" was later remixed with contributions from Shabba Ranks and Ninjaman. He continued to release albums into the 2000s, such as Determination (2003) and Running From Reality (2006).
