Biography
Absent Kid is an English indie rock band from Colchester that formed in 2002. The ensemble consists of the brothers Martin Williams and Richard Williams along with the bassist Mark Butters. They are famous for their name being inspired by a character from the cartoon South Park. The group achieved professional recognition after opening for the ensemble Ikara Colt at the venue Twist, which led to radio airplay on XFM London. In 2004, the band received the Diesel-U-Music award for Best Rock. Their discography includes the EP Scatter Photos and Relive Bloodloss, the mini-album I Burnt Down the Family Business (2005), and the single âShame on Us All / Quiet Playgroundâ (2006). The ensemble released the studio recording Misadventure (2007), which featured a shift toward an upbeat musical style.
