Biography

6ixBuzz (formed in 2017, in Toronto) is an online media platform and record label founded by Abraham Tekabo and Sarman Esagholian. Initially an Instagram profile focusing on Toronto's underground music scene, the platform gained recognition for sharing user-generated content and clickbait in a tabloid format. In 2018, the founders established 6ixBuzz Entertainment. The label's debut compilation, 6ixUpsideDown (2018), reached number 87 on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100. In 2019, Tekabo and Esagholian gained notoriety for issuing threats against journalists investigating the company. The label released the album NorthernSound in late 2019. Following the launch of a re-faced website in January 2021, the company released the compilation Canadaâs Most Wanted (2021), featuring artists such as Pressa, Yung Tory, and 88Glam. 6ixBuzz established a reputation for controversy, drawing widespread criticism for spreading misinformation and fostering racial and ethnic stereotypes.
