The 411, an English girl group consisting of Carolyn Owlett, Tanya Bryson, and Tisha Martin, formed in late 2002. The trio initially gained attention when Tanya Bryson and Tisha Martin provided backing vocals for Lemar's cover of "Let's Stay Together" by Al Green. This led to a record deal with Sony Music after the group was noticed by a representative from the label. The 411 released their debut single, "On My Knees", in July 2004, reaching number 5 in the UK and number 30 in Australia. Their follow-up single "Dumb" also performed well, peaking at number 3 in the UK. These singles were featured on their debut album Between The Sheets, released in November 2004. The album included collaborations with Diane Warren and Redeye, as well as a cover of SWV's hit "Weak". Between The Sheets was certified silver by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) in December 2004. Despite their initial success, the group disbanded in 2005 after their third single "Teardrops" failed to reach number 20 and the album did not make it into the top forty. The group reunited briefly in 2007 under a new name, Sunshyne, but reverted back to The 411 shortly thereafter. In December 2021, The 411 announced their reunion for a series of live performances.
