Biography

187 Lockdown was a British electronic music duo comprising Danny Harrison and Julian Jonah. The group is known for their contributions to the speed garage genre, which emerged in the mid-1990s as an offshoot of UK garage and jungle music. Their initial breakthrough came with the release of "Anytime" in 1997, which peaked at Number 48 and topped the UK Dance chart. This success was followed by additional singles such as "Sound Bwoy Burial"/"All Night Long" (1997) and a rerelease of "Anytime" in 1998. The duo's debut album, 187, was released in March 1998. In addition to their work as 187 Lockdown, Harrison and Jonah recorded under various aliases, including Gant, Ground Control, Nu-Birth, and M Factor. The most commercially successful of these aliases was M Factor, who achieved a UK top 20 hit with the vocal version of "Mother" in 2002. Following their work as M Factor, Harrison became part of the remix outfit Moto Blanco, while Jonah continued his career as a producer.
