Biography

Re-Flex, a British new wave band, was formed in Birmingham, England, in 1981. The group initially consisted of John Baxter on vocals and lead guitar, Paul Fishman on keyboards and backing vocals, François Craig on bass and vocals, John Hodges on guitar, and Phil Gould on drums. Re-Flex's debut album, The Politics of Dancing, was released in November 1983 by EMI Records. The title track became an international hit in 1984, reaching the top 20 in several countries, including number 24 in the United States and number 8 on the U.S. dance chart. The band toured Europe and the United States, supporting acts like the Police. Their follow-up album, Humanication, was recorded in late 1984 but not released until much later due to label issues. In 2010, Re-Flex released a six-CD box set titled Re-Fuse, which included remastered versions of their albums and previously unreleased material. The band's final track with drummer Roland Vaughn Kerridge, Remix albumVibrate Generate, was released in June 2022 as part of a double-CD album.
