108, an American hardcore punk band from New York City, was formed in 1991 by Vraja Kishor (also known as Vic DiCara). Their music reflected the Hare Krishna faith of its members, with the name derived from the number of beads on a Japa mala. The band released their debut album Holyname in 1993 via Equal Vision Records. In 1994, they released Songs Of Separation. The band toured Europe multiple times and disbanded in August 1998 and gave a final show at the CBGB club. After reuniting in 2005, they released albums such as Creation. Sustenance. Destruction. (2006) and A New Beat From A Dead Heart (2007). The band continued to perform sporadically, with notable shows in May 2016 and 2019.
