Australian singer-songwriter Joanne Ruth Charlotte Accom, known mononymously as Joanne, was born on November 13, 1978, in Melbourne, Victoria. Her first single, "Jackie", released in late 1998, marked her breakthrough moment, reaching number 3 on the ARIA Charts and becoming the highest-selling single by an Australian artist during the eligibility period for the 1999 ARIA Music Awards. Credited as B.Z. featuring Joanne or Joanne/BZ, this release set the stage for her subsequent singles "Pack Your Bags" and "Are You Ready", both released in 1999. In 2000, she featured on the track "Breakin' There's No Stoppin' Us" by Ilanda for The Wog Boy Movie. Joanne's only solo album, Do Not Disturb, was released in 2001 after two and a half years of production. The album included remixes and new singles such as "So Damn Fine", "I Don't Know", and "Busted". It was produced and recorded at Dance World Studios in South Melbourne. Joanne performed her hits at various venues, including Melbourne's Rumba and during the closing credits of Big Brother Australia 2001 live eviction shows. She also joined the Vengaboys' 2016 National Tour as a special guest and performed at the Pump '90s dance party in Sydney on April 8, 2017.
