Biography
The Indonesian rockers formerly known as Peterpan, NOAH have built their career from memorable lyrics and an aesthetic that runs the full gamut of rock. One of the country's biggest forces in alternative rock, NOAH formed in Bandung, West Java in 2000 and went on to score three of Indonesia's all-time best-selling albums: 2004's Bintang di Surga, 2005's soundtrack for Alexandria, and 2014's Seperti Seharusnya. Initially composed of six members led by vocalist Nazril âArielâ Irham, rhythm guitarist Uki Kautsar, lead guitarist Lukman Hakim, drummer Ilsyah Ryan Reza, and keyboardist David Albert (who had recorded and performed with Peterpan since 2007), the group dropped their debut album as Peterpan, Taman Langit, in 2003 and went on to release another two LPs under that moniker â 2004 landmark Bintang di Surga and 2007's Hari Yang Cerah... before changing their name to NOAH in 2012 and releasing Seperti Seharusnya in 2012 and 2019's Keterkaitan Keterikatan. As of August 2019, only Ariel, Lukman Hakim, and David Albert remain in the band. In 2021, NOAH shared a re-recording of their 2003 debut album, Taman Langit, which was released when they were still known as Peterpan.
