Yoshinori Sugimoto, born on November 26 in Osaka, Yao, Japan, was a Japanese singer-songwriter. He began his music career in 1994 with the formation of fin-de-siecle and subsequently joined IV, Ray, Kreis, and Waive. After Waive disbanded in December 2005, Sugimoto started his solo career with a live event at Nippon Budokan on December 25, 2005. His debut album HELLO was released on February 7, 2007, followed by several other albums including Alternative (2009). Notable singles include "I am Fragile" (2006). Throughout his career, Sugimoto collaborated with various artists and participated in charity projects. He also contributed to soundtracks for games like D_CIDE TRAUMEREI. In 2013, he temporarily halted live activities due to vocal issues but returned in 2015. Sugimoto continued his solo career while occasionally reuniting with Waive for special performances until their final concert at Nippon Budokan on January 4, 2026.
