Biography
Propaganda, a German synth-pop group, was formed in Düsseldorf in 1982. The band initially consisted of Ralf Dörper, Andreas Thein, and Susanne Freytag. They released their first single "Dr. Mabuse" in 1984, which reached the top 30 in the UK Singles Chart and the top 10 in Germany. Their debut studio album, A Secret Wish, was released in mid-1985 and included the hit singles "Dr. Mabuse" and "Duel", both of which were top 30 hits in the UK. The band's second studio album, 1234, was released in 1990 by Virgin Records. In the 21st century, original vocalists Claudia Brücken and Susanne Freytag reformed as xPropaganda, releasing a new album in 2022.
