William Michael Morgan was born on 13â¯Mayâ¯1993 in Vicksburg, Mississippi, and began his career as a country singer and songwriter. He first attracted attention with the 2015 single "I Met a Girl", which reached Number two on the Country Airplay chart and Number eight on the Hot Country Songs chart in Octoberâ¯2016, a track coâwritten with Samâ¯Hunt. Morgan released his debut EP William Michael Morgan on 17â¯Marchâ¯2016, followed by his debut studio album Vinyl on 30â¯Septemberâ¯2016 under Warnerâ¯Bros.â¯Nashville; the albumâs second single, "Missing", was serviced to country radio on 7â¯Novemberâ¯2016. After touring in support of Vinyl, Morganâs commercial momentum continued with the single "White Christmas" in Decemberâ¯2015, and he maintained a presence on the charts through 2018. In Januaryâ¯2019, he and Warnerâ¯Bros.â¯Nashville part ways, marking a significant shift in his career trajectory.
