Biography
Whitney, an American indie rock band, was formed in Chicago in 2015 by Max Kakacek and Julien Ehrlich, following the breakup of their previous band, Smith Westerns. Their debut single "No Matter Where We Go" was released in June 2015, followed by their first album, Light Upon the Lake, on June 3, 2016. The band's second studio album, Forever Turned Around, was released on August 30, 2019. Whitney has toured internationally and collaborated with various artists, including Waxahatchee on covers of "Take Me Home, Country Roads", from their third full-length Candid, released in August 2020. Whitney followed with albums Spark in September 2022 and Small Talk in November 2025.
