Biography

William LaShawn Calhoun Jr., also known as WC, was born on February 3, 1970 in Houston, Texas and later moved to Westmont, California. He is an American rapper and actor who began his music career in the late 1999s with the groups Low Profile and The Maad Circle. With Low Profile, he released We're in This Thing Together on January 25, 1990. The following year, The Maad Circle released Ain't a Damn Thang Changed, which peaked at number 85 on the Billboard 200 chart. WC later formed Westside Connection with Ice Cube and Mack 10, releasing "Bow Down" in September 1996, their debut single which reached number 21 on the charts. The trio's first album Bow Down, released October 22, 1996 peaked at number 2 and was certified platinum. In his solo career, WC released his first album The Shadiest One on March 17, 1998 which debuted at number 19 on the Billboard 200 chart. His second solo album Ghetto Heisman, released November 12, 2002, peaked at number 46 and included notable songs like "Better Days" and "Just Clownin'". In 2013 WC collaborated with Daz Dillinger on the album West Coast Gangsta Sht*. William Calhoun also ventured into acting, appearing in films such as Friday (1995) and Set It Off (1996). His acting credits include various television shows like One on One and Cuts.
