Waterdown was a German post-hardcore band formed in Osnabrück in 1999. The group initially released their debut EP, Drawasmilingface, in 2000 on Two Friends Recordings. Their breakthrough came when Victory Records signed them after a support tour with Grade, making Waterdown the first German band to secure a deal with this influential US label. In 2001, they released their debut album, Never Kill the Boy on the First Date, followed by The Files You Have on Me in 2003. After singer Marcel Bischoff left in 2004, Michael âZackenâ Janczak joined and contributed to the 2006 album All Riot. The band parted ways with Victory Records in 2007 due to contractual disputes. Waterdown announced their disbandment in 2012, releasing their final album, Into the Flames, on Uncle M/Cargo Records before embarking on a farewell tour through Germany.
