Biography

Visací Zamek, a Czech punk rock band, was formed in 1982 by five students at the Czech Technical University in Prague. The group initially planned to perform just one gig but continued after their debut show on December 7, 1982. Due to political pressures from communist authorities, they changed their name to Traktor and later reformed under the original name V.Z. (V zastoupení) in 1987. Their first single was released that year, followed by their self-titled debut album in 1990. The band's popularity grew with releases like Traktor and Jako vždycky, but they faced a decline in the late 1990s due to reduced songwriting activities. A resurgence came in 2005 with the success of their music video "Známka punku". The band has continued to tour and release new material, including Punkový království (2015) and Anarchie a Total Chaos (2020).
