Biography
Daniel Docherty and Martyn MacDonald, native of the Isle of Skye, Scotland, formed Valtos in 2021. They debuted with a live show in December 2021 and released the remix "Marx Terrace" in January 2022, followed by "Home" and "Ceòl Dannsa"; their album Valtos arrived in June 2022, achieved over 100,000 streams, and earned them the Scots Trad Music Awardsâ Up and Coming Artist of the Year in December 2022. Valtos continued to collaborate with Donnie Munro, Gary Innes, Euan McLaughlin, Julie Fowlis, releasing singles "Liberate", "Lose Control", and "A' Chuthag" while touring festivals like Celtic Connections and Edinburgh Tradfest. In 2024 they issued Valtos & Friends and in 2026 followed with The Last Light, with forthcoming singles "Etive" and "Over Blue".
