Biography
Urne is a London metal trio formed in 2016, fusing sludge, thrash and progressive metal into a dark, cinematic sound. Comprising Joe Nally (bass, vocals), Angus Neyra (guitar) and Richard Wiltshire (drums), the trio released their debut EP, The Mountain of Gold, in 2018, followed by the album Serpent & Spirit (2021), released on the Candlelight label. In 2022, the band undergoes a change of musician with the replacement of Richard Wiltshire by James Cook. Released in 2023, the second album A Feast on Sorrow was produced by Joe Duplantier of Gojira. After signing with Finnish label Spinefarm Records, two singles followed in 2025, the double "I / Throes of Grief" and "Harken the Wavves", with vocal participation by Troy Sanders (Mastodon), while guitarist Andy Neyra gave way to Kurtis Bagley. January 2026 sees the release of the third album, Setting the Fire to the Sky.
