Biography
Ufomammut is an Italian doom metal band formed in 1999 in Tortona, Italy. The group consists of the guitarist Poia, the bassist and vocalist Urlo, and the drummer Levre. Their musical style combines repetitive heavy riffs with droning vocals and synthesizers. Their debut studio album, Godlike Snake (2000), was followed by Snailking (2004) and Lucifer Songs (2005). Their recordings include Idolum (2008) and the work Eve (2010), which consists of a single 45-minute track divided into five movements. Ufomammut released the two-part project Oro: Opus Primum (2012) and Oro: Opus Alter (2012), followed by the albums Ecate (2015) and 8 (2017). The drummer Vita left the group in 2020 and was replaced by Levre in 2021. Their discography includes the subsequent albums Fenice (2022) and Hidden (2024).
