Biography

Hurt is an American rock band originally formed in Virginia by J. Loren Wince. While the group’s independent debut, Hurt, was released in 2000, they achieved a mainstream breakthrough in 2006 with the single "Rapture" and their major label debut, Vol. 1. The band garnered significant radio airplay through singles such as "Falls Apart" and "Danse Russe" before releasing Vol. II in 2007, which featured the hit "Ten Ton Brick." Hurt continued to expand their catalog with Goodbye to the Machine in 2009 and The Crux in 2012. Although the band entered an extended period of inactivity following the 2015 re-release of their debut, titled Self-Entitled, they remained a notable fixture of the alternative rock genre through their complex arrangements and emotive songwriting.
