Biography

Johnny Strong, born in 2003 in the United States, is the founder and frontman of the Los Angeles‑based post‑grunge band Operator, where he performs lead and rhythm guitar, bass, piano, and vocals. He first released the self‑recorded demo Can You Hear Me Now in 2003, which attracted Atlantic Records and led to a 2007 signing; the label debut Soulcrusher followed that summer, selling over 110,000 copies, peaking at number 14 on the Heatseekers chart, and spawning singles such as "Soulcrusher", "Nothing to Lose", and "Delicate". Subsequent albums included The War of Art (2010), Close to Extinction (2012), War Horse (2015), and Volume 7: White Light (2018), while singles appeared on video game soundtracks and professional wrestling events; the band has remained active with touring members Paul Phillips, Ricki Lixx, Wade Carpenter, and Dorman Pantfoeder.
