Biography
Local H, an American rock band, was founded in 1990 by guitarist and vocalist Scott Lucas in Zion, Illinois. The band's origins trace back to a high school group called Rude Awakening. Local H performed their first show on April 20, 1990, at the University of Wisconsin in Whitewater. Following member departures, Lucas and drummer Joe Daniels continued as a duo. In 1994, they signed with Island Records and released their debut album Ham Fisted in 1995. They achieved commercial success with their second album As Good as Dead (1996), which featured the hit single "Bound for the Floor" peaking at number 5 on the US Alternative Billboard Chart. After Daniels' departure in 1999, Brian St. Clair joined as drummer. The band has continued to release music with subsequent drummers, including Ryan Harding, who joined in November 2013 and released Hey, Killer (2015) and Lifers (2020). In 2025, the band released ReFisted, a re-recorded version of its debut album, Ham Fisted.
