Biography

Tintern Abbey was a British psychedelic rock band formed in 1967. Their debut single "Beeside" / "Vacuum Cleaner", released on Deram Records in 1967, marked their entry into the music scene but did not achieve commercial success at the time. Following the departure of Don Smith, Paul Brett joined as a guitarist and Terry Goldberg became the organist. The band's follow-up single "How Do I Feel Today" / "Do What You Must" was planned for April 1968 but never released, and a full-length LP scheduled for August did not materialize due to their disbandment in 1968. Despite their short career, Tintern Abbey gained cult status post-breakup, with "Vacuum Cleaner" becoming highly sought after by collectors and featured on various compilation albums, including Nuggets II (2001). In 2024, their complete recordings were compiled into an album titled Beeside (The Complete Recordings).
