Biography

Timothée Chalamet, born on December 27, 1995, is an American-French actor who began his career in commercials before making his film debut in a short film in 2008. Following this, he appeared in TV dramas like Law & Order and the TV movie Loving Leah in 2009. Chalamet gained further recognition with roles in Royal Pains and significantly in Homeland during 2012, where he played the Vice President's son. His film career expanded with roles in Men, Women & Children (2014) and as a young Tom in Interstellar (2014). Chalamet's breakout role came in 2017 with Call Me by Your Name directed by Luca Guadagnino, earning him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor at just 21, making him one of the youngest nominees in history. In 2018, he starred in Beautiful Boy playing a young man struggling with drug addiction, which earned him nominations at the Golden Globes and BAFTAs. More recently, in 2023, he stirred controversy on "Saturday Night Live" with a skit about the Israeli-Hamas conflict. In 2024, Chalamet contributed to the success of major Warner Bros. films like Wonka and Dune: Part 2, leading to a multi-year first-look deal with the studio. He played Bob Dylan in the movie A Complete Unknown and sang all of Bob Dylan's songs, including "Blowin' in the Wind"(2024).
