Thorbjørn Egner, born on December 12, 1912, in Oslo, Norway, was a Norwegian artist and writer known for his contributions to children's music. He began his career as an illustrator and designer after studying at the National Academy of Crafts and Art Industry. His breakthrough came with the radio program Barnetimen for de minste in the early 1950s. Egner released several albums, including Karius og Baktus (1957) and Folk og røvere i Kardemomme by (1975), which became popular among children. He also collaborated on adaptations of Winnie-the-Pooh stories, releasing Ole Brumm og vennene hans in 1974. Egner received numerous awards for his work, including the Spellemann Award for children's record of the year in 1975 and 1982. He passed away on December 24, 1990.
