Biography

Barry Louis Polisar, born on November 18, 1954 in Brooklyn, New York, is an American singer-songwriter and writer known for his contributions to children's music. He began his career in Montgomery County, Maryland, releasing his debut album I Eat Kids in 1975. Throughout the late 1970s and early 1980s, Polisar released several albums including My Brother Thinks He's a Banana (1977) and Songs for Well Behaved Children (1979). His work has been recognized with five Parents' Choice Awards and performances at prestigious venues such as the White House and the Smithsonian. In 2009, a tribute album titled We're Not Kidding! A Tribute to Barry Louis Polisar was released, featuring covers of his songs by various artists. Polisar's 1977 song "All I Want is You" gained significant exposure when it was featured in the opening credits of Jason Reitman’s film Juno.
