Peter Alsop (born September 18, 1946, in Connecticut) is an American musician known for his childrenâs music and satirical adult songs. Raised in an alcoholic family, he earned a BA in Religion from Trinity College in 1968, followed by graduate work and a PhD in educational psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University and Columbia Pacific University. His music career began in 1975, producing childrenâs, educational, and humorous material. Notable albums include Whaâdâya Wanna Do!? (1983), Stayinâ Over (1987), and In the Hospital (1989, with Bill Harley). In 2010, he received a Parentsâ Choice Award for his album Grow It at Home. His work often addresses themes of recovery, addiction, loss, and sexuality.
