Hap Palmer, born Harlan G. Palmer III on October 28, 1942, in Los Angeles, California, is an American children's musician and guitarist. Palmer's recording career began in 1969, and his early releases include the Learning Basic Skills Through Music album series and Getting to Know Myself, with the signature song âSammyâ. Palmer's subsequent releases include the albums Sally the Swinging Snake, Walter the Waltzing Worm, and the Halloween song âWitches' Brewâ (1978), co-written with his then-wife Martha Cheney. On January 15, 2009, Palmer issued the album Multiplication Mountain (2009), followed by the educational album Count, Add, Subtract! Fun with Math, Music, and Movement (2013). More than 30 of Palmer's albums have been published by Smithsonian Folkways, and his 2016 release received a Parents' Choice Gold Award.
