Thee Heavenly Music Association, an American noise pop, shoegaze, and indie rock band, was formed in 2001 by producer and engineer Dave Hillis, known for his work on Pearl Jam's Ten LP and Alice in Chains' Would? EP, among others, and Helen Storer, a notable musician from the London all-girl punk band Fluffy. The band's debut album, Shaping the Invisible, was released in 2005, via Rehash Records. The title of the album was derived from a quote by Leonardo da Vinci describing music. Musicians involved in the heavily psychedelic-based project included bassist Bardi Martin from Candlebox and drummer Dave Krusen from Pearl Jam. The album received positive reviews upon its release, with a single also released on Fierce Panda Records.
